18th Annual Summer Internship for Kuwaiti Students at Alshaya Group in Collaboration with the Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) Successfully Concludes

In line with its commitment to support youth across the region, Alshaya Group, in association with the Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) in Kuwait, recognised around 56 Kuwaiti students who successfully completed their summer internship at the company.

The one-month programme that ran for four weeks from 30th June to 25th July, witnessed the participation of young students who received training at popular brands across various locations, including Starbucks, H&M, KidZania, TekZone, MAC, American Eagle, COS, Pinkberry, Victoria’s Secret, The Cheesecake Factory, The Body Shop, Claire’s, Disney, Harvey Nichols and Monki.

Each of the Kuwaiti interns participated in an immersive learning and experiential journey that included hands-on professional training and intensive insight into all aspects of store operations, including sales, promotions, customer service, merchandising and stock management – the ideal preparation for those interested in a career in retail. The programme concluded with a graduation ceremony at Burj Alshaya where the interns were presented with Certificates of Completion.

“Spending this summer as an intern at Starbucks was an irreplaceable experience,” shared Lin Abdallah Almagaham“I feel confident I brought value to my team of professionals, who also shared their knowledge with me openly. Everything I worked on was part of something bigger but just as crucial to the process, which was motivating and exciting to witness. I felt very welcomed since day one, not only were the coworkers with whom I worked fantastic, but the supervisors also regularly checked in to continue building our relationship.”

Every year, Alshaya collaborates with the Public Authority of Manpower to offer retail internships to local students. These programs complement university education with practical experience, fostering future retail professionals.
