In partnership with the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA), Tough Mudder, the world-famous obstacle course challenge, will host three events in Saudi Arabia early next year, providing competitors with the opportunity to push their bodies to the limit in a true test of physical capabilities.
Following the huge success of two UAE events this season, including the region’s flagship competition in Dubai, which took place in November and attracted over 7,500 competitors, the focus turns to Saudi Arabia for the early part of 2024, with the first event scheduled for Riyadh on Friday, January 5 at Dirab Motor Sports Park.
That is followed two weeks later by an event in Jeddah on Friday, January 19, with Tough Mudder returning to King Abdullah Sports Stadium. The world’s leading obstacle and mud run is also heading to Dammam for the first time on Friday, February 2 at Khobar Lakes.
Open to all, regardless of ability, Tough Mudder events feature 5k and 10k races, with a separate Tough Mudder Kids competition for those aged between six and 12.
Already announced for Saturday, February 24 is the inaugural Tough Mudder Infinity AlUla, an eight-hour ultra-endurance competition featuring a prize pot of almost half a million dollars, including the largest single prize in the history of obstacle course racing (OCR).
Participants in next year’s Saudi events will face a selection of challenging and exciting obstacles, including Everest, Shawshanked, Electroshock Therapy, and Artic Enema, all of which will require a combination of personal determination and collective effort in order to be overcome.
Nic Cartwright, Tough Mudder Middle East license holder, said: “We’re delighted to bring three new Tough Mudder events to Saudi Arabia in the early part of 2024, and to be continuing with the event in Jeddah. The locations provideopportunities for Mudders all across the country – and wider region – to take part.
“The addition of these events to the 2024 Tough Mudder calendar reinforces our commitment to not only elevating Saudi Arabia’s ever-growing reputation as a global sporting hub but also promoting the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle.
”The current Tough Mudder season promises to be the biggest yet, with seven events across Saudi Arabia and the UAE, including two which have already taken place in Fujairah and Dubai.
