Hyundai continues the “Mobility for the Food Bank” initiative

Hyundai Motor Company’s Africa and Middle East headquarters has teamed up with Al-Wallan Trading Company, the local Hyundai central province distributor in Riyadh, to announce the renewal of their partnership with the Saudi Food Bank (Eta’am). Their “Mobility for Food Bank” initiative will continue for a second year, which aims to provide food packages to isolated communities in the Saudi Kingdom during the holy month of Ramadan. This endeavor is also supported by King Saud University.

 

The initiative officially started with the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding by the Saudi Food Bank (Eta’am) and Hyundai Motor Company, to provide a framework of cooperation to execute the Hyundai 2023 CSV campaign ‘Hyundai Continue’. 

 

Hyundai Motor Company has supported the reach to rural areas and isolated beneficiaries by handing over a group of vehicles including Staria and HD65 trucks, 1 unit of HD65 Trucks was donated to three cities to load the packages and deliver them to the labour and families supported by food banks and NGOs. Staria was also present in the launching campaign of the “Mobility for food bank” initiative started last year. 

As a part of Hyundai’s commitment to its responsibility as a mobility solution provider, Hyundai’s concept of mobility is not only defined by offering these solutions for customers but acceded to think of ways to expand the impact and achieve “sustainable mobility” by utilizing these solutions for good and connect to the remote people in the region, to get closer and connected in times of uncertainty to create an atmosphere of solidarity within Hyundai’s people. 

Mr. Mohammed Al Khalawi, VP of Business and Development at Al-Wallan Trading Co. Hyundai has said:” We at Wallan and Hyundai Motor Company Middle East and Africa are proud to be part of this initiative, providing mobility to deliver food to people in need. Moreover, we have sincerely appreciated the Saudi Food Bank Association (Eta’am) and the students at King Saud University, who participated in packing and preparing meals for the underprivileged. The students participated for the first time and aided in the distribution of 650 food boxes across various neighbourhoods in Riyadh”. Mr. Al Khalawi also reiterated Al-Wallan Trading Company’s unwavering dedication to backing community welfare in every aspect.

Dr. Muhammad bin Abdullatif Al-Nafisa, expressed his happiness with the cooperation of the college represented by the Student Clubs Unit and the Deanship of Student Affairs at King Saud University, hosting and participating in the volunteer initiative and preparation for supplying Ramadan baskets in partnership with Al-Wallan and the Saudi Food Bank. As such an initiative stems from the spirit of our virtuous Islamic traditions, we aim to help the people who are in need first and then consolidate the love of volunteer work for students at King Saud University. His Excellency also welcomed such effective partnerships that benefit society and the country.

In turn, Faisal Al-Shoushan, CEO of the Saudi Food Bank Association, expressed “Eta’am”‘s pride in the partnership concluded with Hyundai, pointing out that the contribution made by the company in the field of food support and the provision of enhanced means for the developed logistical work confirms Hyundai’s keenness to achieve integration with the association towards social responsibility.

Faisal Al-Shoushan extended his thanks and the Board of Directors of Eta’am to Hyundai in the Middle East and to all its authorized distributers in the Kingdom. This strategic partnership between Hyundai Motor Company and diverse key change-makers reflects the “Hyundai Continue” charity campaign, which aims to hold activities that contribute to solving social problems that can be shared with local communities and future generations, by providing eco-friendly mobility solutions that attain a future of sustainability for future Generations.
