McLaren Applied announces NASCAR trackside services partnership with SRI Performance

McLaren Applied has announced a new trackside services partnership with SRI Performance, one of North America’s largest motorsport distributors. The agreement will see a McLaren Applied presence at all 37 NASCAR Cup Series races in 2023. In partnership with the Trackside Services division of SRI Performance, the renowned British firm’s cutting-edge components will be available from SRI’s 53-foot parts hauler, located infield at all NASCAR Cup Series events.

With over three decades at the cutting-edge of motorsport, Formula 1, McLaren Applied has developed unrivalled expertise in the design and manufacture of a wide range of high-quality, reliable racing componentry. The British engineering and technology provider, which was previously part of McLaren Group, is sole supplier of Engine Control Units (ECUs) to F1, NASCAR and IndyCar, meaning racing teams and fans across the United States will already be familiar with the brand’s work.

Stock Car Steel and the SRI family of businesses are similarly renowned, having provided parts and services to the racing industry for more than 25 years. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina the business has grown to serve every aspect of the motorsports industry since its creation in 1996.

The collaboration between one of motorsport’s longest-serving suppliers and most respected distributors will see McLaren Applied’s widely-used motorsport parts and components including TAG 400s, lap trigger receivers, temperature sensors and pressure transducers available to all teams, alongside a range of connectors and harness accessories specific to NASCAR.

From its own US base in North Carolina, McLaren Applied has maintained a permanent presence in North America since 2009. Further reinforcing the brand’s dedication to the market, it will now also enjoy a presence at all 37 NASCAR Cup races, 31 of the 33 scheduled NASCAR Xfinity Series races and 20 of the 23 NASCAR Trucks Series races, a number of events will also feature in-person software assistance from McLaren Applied’s expert personnel on the ground.

Speaking on the announcement of the partnership, Richard Saxby, Director, Motorsport at McLaren Applied said: “The signing of this agreement with SRI Performance is yet another exciting development for McLaren Applied in North America.

“Following on from the release of our Sport Range of premium off-the-shelf sensors, it is a further example of our desire to provide motorsport teams and series around the world with high quality, reliable components that can deliver the extra performance they need, when they need it.”

Skylar Stamey, McLaren Applied Motorsports Account Manager – North America, added: “This partnership with SRI extends our commitment at McLaren Applied to supporting every NASCAR Cup Series race and offers us greater opportunities to connect with our customers face to face.”

Kevin Storms, General Manger at SRI Performance, said: “SRI is extremely excited about the opportunity to partner with McLaren Applied, one of the most well-respected brands in all of motorsports.

“This is a partnership that we have been working toward for a couple of years now and it is exciting to see it finally come to fruition. SRI is proud that we are going to be able to offer McLaren Applied products and services on our NASCAR trackside support trailer. This business is all about relationships and we couldn’t be happier to establish one with McLaren Applied for hopefully many years to come.”
