Following last year’s successful evening, W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is bringing back the culinary celebration to keep Abu Dhabi’s residents Looped In the conversation. The collaboration of W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island with BOCA Restaurant in 2022, brought to life the first edition of this unique event: featuring a waste-less menu with an imaginative take on regional ingredients, and kicking off an open and honest conversation about responsible cooking.
With the aim of educating the audience on how to improve their green footprint on a day to day basis, W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is bringing Looped in back: welcoming conscious tastemakers and visionaries around the table for a meal that pushes the agenda on all things green, presented with inimitable W flair. Leading the conversation this time is the new Executive Chef of W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island, Deivid Paiva, whom, together with the Beverage and Food team of W Abu Dhabi, Lyre’s Non Alcoholic Spirits, and The Gloe Company, will be joining forces to amplify the conversation around good practices in the kitchen and outside.
Throughout the night, diners will have the chance to explore a journey through taste, aromas and sounds, with culinary surprises at each course. The exquisitely curated six-course menu will present innovative techniques used to reduce waste in the kitchen while informing guests about simple tips that they can use in their day to day life, such as using products in their entirety, selecting products that don’t look perfect from local suppliers, and using unknown or not commonly used cuts of meat. Some of Chef Deivid’s creations will include the Ripe Tomato Jelly, with mousse of Local Feta Cheese, Bread off–Cuts Tuile, topped off with a Basil Coulis; or the Oxtail Ravioli with Parmesan Rind Cream and Black Truffle Jus.
With more than 15 years of experience in hospitality and restaurant industry, Deivid Paiva has worked in some of the most renowned 5 stars luxury properties, including Jumeirah, Shangri-la and Ritz Carlton. Thanks to his experiences all around the world, his cuisine creatively spans between classic and modern techniques, with a particular emphasis on local products. Valuing each ingredient that enters his kitchen, and trying to maximize every part of the product in his daily production. Chef Deivid always aims at making his cuisine product driven, following and teaching as a guiding principle of his cooking philosophy the following statement: “When you respect every vegetable and every meat that goes into your kitchen, even as underrated as a carrot, only then can you call yourself a true cook”.
Together with the incredible menu, W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island’s mixologists and Lyre’s will be mixing it up with innovative creations made of all vegan ingredients: giving an amazing alternative for mindful drinking while giving tips about reducing waste in the bar.
The lights will be off and conversation on, with culinary surprises at every corner: from the table to the menu, guests will be inspired every step of the way with the coolest innovations from the culinary team of W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island. To top it all off, the night will be filled with the unique aromas and crystals from The Gloe Company, a vegan and natural alternative from your usual candles; as well as the soothing tunes of the award winning band The IP Boys, playing live the perfect soundtrack to the chat around green practices.
