Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Spartan – the world’s leading endurance sports and extreme wellness brand – have announced a 10 per cent discount on entry fees for this year’s Spartan World Championship 2022. The new incentive, applicable across all race categories, is available for 48 hours only, starting from 12:01am on October 13 unti 11:59pm on October 14 to celebrate the 50-day countdown to the December 2-4 event.
The Spartan World Championship 2022 will take place on an exhilirating new course at Al Wathba Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa in Abu Dhabi, where athletes from across the globe will battle it out over the UAE’s 51st National Day weekend.
Qualifiers from Spartan’s annual calendar of global events will compete on Saturday December 3 in the Men’s and Women’s individual Championship Super, which boasts a season high prize purse of $125,000. While the Age Group World Championship Beast (21km; 30 obstacles) will run on the Saturday too, the Team World Championship Super (10km; 25 obstacles) takes place the next day, with the latter open to any country able to field a team of three eligible participants (terms and conditions apply).
For UAE residents and visitors keen to test themselves on a championship circuit, there is no better opportunity than the Open Heats. Accessible to all ages and skill levels, these races have no qualification requirements and all interested parties are welcome to sign up. The Open Beast (21km; 30 obstacles) will roll out on Saturday, while Open Super and Open Team Super (10km; 25 obstacles), Open Sprint (5km; 20 obstacles), and Kids Open (500m-2km; 5-20 obstacles) will run on Sunday, enabling budding Spartans the chance to tackle the course by themselves or with friends and family.
The partnership between Spartan and Abu Dhabi Sports Council was formed in efforts to nurture young talent whilst promoting the importance of staying fit and healthy. The discounted competition entry aims to encourage residents of the UAE and beyond to participate in a world-class event right here on their doorsteps.
