INNOVATIVE ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE COMPANY ZAPP EV RECRUITS FORMER MCLAREN AUTOMOTIVE EUROPEAN SALES MANAGER AS HEAD OF EUROPE

Zapp EV has appointed former McLaren Automotive Regional Sales Manager for MEAFLA and Western Europe regions, Simon Noone, as Head of Europe.

Simon’s primary focus in the role is to appoint key European retail partners and implement the very best customer experience as Zapp EV expands globally following the launch of its debut product, the i300 electric performance city bike, and prepares for the launch of further products.

Simon has a strong track record of developing automotive industry retailer networks. In 2011 he joined Renault Ireland as Head of Network Development and Head of Business Development, becoming Business and Network Development Manager for Audi Ireland in 2013.

Simon joined McLaren Automotive in 2016 as Global Business and Network Development Manager and was responsible for growing the global retail network from 62 to 86 retail stores across 14

Market areas between 2016 and 2018: China, Australia, Brazil, USA, UK, France, Spain, Hong Kong, Singapore, Peru, Germany, South Korea, Mexico and Beirut.

As Regional Sales Manager for the MEAFLA markets, Simon grew sales for McLaren by 61% between 2018 and 2020 and from 19% as Regional Sales Manager for Western Europe between 2020 and 2022. Simon played a key role in launching multiple models in McLaren’s Ultimate and Limited Series, including the Senna, Elva, Speedtail, 765 and 600LT.

Zapp EV Head of Europe, Simon Noone, said: “I am joining Zapp EV at an exciting time. Right now, we have an intense focus on launching the European sales programme. My key objective in the first 12 months is to appoint some key, notable retail partners in Europe. We have already signed a Letter of Intent with one European retail partner, and we have signed retail partners in Asia and North America. I am determined to deliver the best experience possible for Zapp EV customers, I learned the value of that at McLaren, which has a pure focus on its customer experience and customer engagement. As Zapp EV’s first Head of Europe, I will be building a team around myself and Zapp EV, focusing on implementing the best multi-channel sales programme and customer experience.”

Zapp EV’s debut product, the multiple award-winning i300, offers motorcycle levels of performance with the ease of use and manoeuvrability of a scooter for the city rider, representing the first product of its kind. Zapp EV recently opened a new Experience Centre at Bicester Heritage Quarter where customers can test ride the i300 on the roads and Bicester’s famous test track, as well as spec and order their bike in the Zapp EV boutique.
