MG Motor and legendary driver, Abdo Feghali, teamed up to showcase the abilities of the new MG GT at the 11th Red Bull Car Drift in Amman, Jordan. The sporty MG GT was the focal point of a special, adrenaline-fuelled demonstration, thanks to a partnership between Red Bull and the British-born brand’s retail partner in the country, MESC.
The demonstration combined Feghali’s renowned experience and skill with the impressive performance of the sporty MG GT, which remarkably incorporated only minimal tuning to the handbrake and exhaust.
Beneath the car’s sporty exterior, the 1.5T MG GT is equipped with a highly-efficient four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers maximum horsepower of 173 PS and up to 250 N.m of torque.
The tournament featured more than 20 participants who put their drifting skills to the test on the most challenging and exciting of routes in the Showground at Airport Road in Amman. Driver Anas El Helo was crowned champion of the Red Bull Car Park Drift tournament, and consequently qualified to represent Jordan in the world finals this December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
