MyGlobalHome, a group of experts shaping the future of building and living, has appointed world renowned automotive designer, Frank Stephenson to its Board of Advisors overseeing design strategy. In this role, Frank will be bringing cross industry innovation that’s seen as instrumental in shaping the design vision and user experience for MyGlobalHome.
Now heading up his own independent studio, Frank has over three decades’ experience designing for luxury brands including Maserati, Ferrari, MINI and McLaren and is widely lauded for his visionary work in both the automotive and design communities. Central to all his projects is a belief in improving experience through design, an ethos he now brings to projects as varied as electric aircraft, extra-terrestrial rovers and baby car seats.
Speaking about the collaboration, Frank Stephenson commented: “What drew me to MyGlobalHome was a shared sincerity that beautiful design can truly transform our lived experience. I’ve always believed that design is part art, part science and MyGlobalHome’s vision of transforming the future of living perfectly embodies that.
“Boundary-pushing design can take a generation to filter down to the general public, particularly when there is a luxury price-tag attached. Conversely, the MyGlobalHome project is using an evolutionary design approach to democratise access to smart, adaptable spaces – whether at home or work. Being able to work closely with them to optimise the fundamental relationship between humans and the built environment is something I am immensely excited about.”
Lee McCormack, CEO, MyGlobalHome added: “Frank brings a wealth of experience with him, and we feel privileged to be working with someone who can – genuinely! – lay claim to being an industry leader. We have long believed that the smart home sector has much to learn from the automotive industry in terms of design principles, modularity and user experience, so Frank’s heritage will provide us with an invaluable perspective in the coming months and years.”
