Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) has unveiled an upgraded news categorisation feature within HUAWEI Browser, to optimise the newsfeed experience for users across the MENA region. This update enables every user to set-up and explore the array of their favourite news and sources based on their preferred topics. Through a partnership with Microsoft News and Nabd, this upgrade brings content from a variety of trusted sources, integrated within HUAWEI Browser.
The 2.8 million daily active users on HUAWEI Browser daily will now be able to organise their preferred news in the following categories: General News, Entertainment, Sports, Health, Finance, and Automotive.
“As a secure, interactive and reliable app to access the Internet, HUAWEI Browser now offers a more personalised newsfeed experience to millions of users in the region. At Huawei, we continue to innovate to visibly enhance the user experiences, and a primary driver of our innovation thinking is connecting our users to what matters to them”, said Adam Xiao, managing director of Huawei Mobile Services in Middle East and Africa, Huawei Consumer Business Group.
To ensure diversity of English news, HMS has collaborated with Microsoft News and launched four new categories – news, entertainment, sports and finance. Microsoft News implements a long-tested approach of curating news via publishing partnerships, human editors and AI to personalize the news for its readers.
To curate the best regional content, HMS has partnered with Nabd, a personalized Arabic newsfeed aggregator that compiles local and topical news from numerous nations and sources. Categorised into News, Entertainment, Sports, Finance, Automotive and Health, Huawei users Nabd offers Huawei users premium Arabic content.
HMS’ partnership with Microsoft News and Nabd will allow Huawei users to customise the news they receive based on their preferences wherever they are – like having their own personal newsroom.
