Gamers8 unveils details of the GameDev Zone presented by Nine66, which offers free training on the design, development, and delivery of games

Gamers8, the largest esports and gaming event worldwide, has today unveiled details of the GameDev Zone presented by Nine66 providing free training on the design, development, and delivery of today’s games.

Organized by the Saudi Esports Federation, Gamers8 got underway last weekend at a purpose-built venue at Boulevard Riyadh City. Elite esports tournaments are taking place during the eight-week event alongside big-name concerts, festivals, shows, attractions, and gaming-dedicated areas such as the GameDev Zone presented by Nine66.

The GameDev Zone presented by Nine66 includes a Start Up Fundamentals program, a GameTech Start Up workshop, #60DaysOfGame – a challenge to develop a publishable game in 60 days – and a Gaming Debate League. Also included are Java Programming Minecraft, Game Design & Mechanics with Fortnite Creative, Game Development with Roblox, and Developers Zone II, an incubation program for video game developers. Make It and Play It 3, where you make your own app and design your own game, a huge Gameathone, and ThinkTech Talk, an electronic games development forum, complete the incredible GameDev Zone presented by Nine66 roster.

Start Up Fundamentals runs until September 9, GameTech Start Up until July 20, and #60DaysOfGame from July 21 – September 12. The Gaming Debate League, Java Programming Minecraft, Game Design & Mechanics with Fortnite Creative, and Game Development with Roblox are all scheduled from July 24 – August 4. Developers Zone II runs from August 9 until September 7, while Make It and Play It 3 is on from August 14 – September 2, and Gameathone from August 18 – 24. The ThinkTech Talk takes place on September 5.

Organized by the Saudi Esports Federation, Gamers8 will focus on four main pillars, each with something to offer for everyone. These four pillars are: Professional Esports, Festivals, Music and ‘The Next World Forum’, an esports and gaming forum that will bring together sector leaders and experts from around the world.

Gamers8 features elite esports teams competing across: Rocket League, Dota 2, Fortnite, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and PUBG MOBILE. A staggering $15 million prize pool is on offer. Dota 2, which runs from July 20-24, continues the esports action. Gamers8 tournaments will be broadcast live on the event channels in more than eight different languages.

In addition, big-name international artists, each of whom is guaranteed to captivate music lovers, will be appearing at Gamers8 concerts alongside numerous local and regional talents each weekend throughout the event.
