Nissan charges towards electrified future with new line-up and technologies

Earlier this month, Nissan set its course firmly towards a sustainable future and bolstered its position in Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania (AMIEO) with the presentation of a new electrified line-up in Madrid, Spain, where top tier KSA media were invited to experience the exciting new electrified models and get a glimpse of the full power and innovation displayed in these vehicles. With differentiated models at the event, Nissan showcased the breadth of its electric expertise and leadership to supercharge the shift to electrified mobility, with exciting prospects for markets across the region.

Setting the benchmark for an electrified offering, the event served as a showcase of some of Nissan’s most exciting new models, such as e-POWER technology on Qashqai, the JUKE Hybrid, as well as Nissan’s 100% electrified crossover Ariya and compact van Townstar. The powertrain portfolio range reflects the diversity of its customers’ driving habits and stands as testament to Nissan’s commitment to supporting drivers embarking on their journey to zero-emission mobility.

The announcement plays a leading role in the delivery of Ambition 2030, the company’s long-term vision for empowering mobility and beyond – with the range delivering more choice, more excitement, and more accessibility than ever before.

Guillaume Cartier, Chairperson, Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania (AMIEO), said: “Nissan is charging towards an electrified future. We have established a clear direction through Ambition 2030 and with our new electrified line-up we are truly paving the way to a sustainable tomorrow. Leveraging our global presence and Alliance partnerships, this is a landmark moment with the arrival of our most comprehensive product offering to date. We have harnessed our disruptive nature and our electric expertise to deliver a suite of electrified powertrain technologies that meet the needs of our customers.”

Going beyond the vehicle, Nissan is working on a comprehensive EV Energy Ecosystem, which explores initiatives to optimise and expand battery energy management capabilities. Nissan’s flagship manufacturing ecosystem, EV36Zero, based in Sunderland, UK – brings together vehicle and battery production, powered by renewables to set the blueprint for the future of manufacturing mobility.

Speaking about the potential of Nissan’s latest EV line-up and product availability in the AMIO markets, Joni Paiva, Divisional Vice President, Africa, Middle East, India, and Oceania at Nissan Motor Corporation, said: “Nissan is committed to bringing electrified mobility to more markets, with zero compromise on excitement for our customers. We have already started this journey in some markets with the introduction of the all-electric LEAF, and during the current fiscal year, we will bring our unique e-POWER technology for the first time to customers in Africa, Turkey, and Oceania.

“We recognise that each market is at a different stage of electrification, and the introduction of our models will naturally depend on market readiness. At Nissan, we are uniquely positioned to bring our rich experience, expertise, and know-how in EVs when our customers and the markets are ready. Our aim is to democratize our products and technologies to give more people increasing access to electrified mobility, at the right time, and in the right place,” he added.
