YAS ACRES GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB TO PUT LOCAL COMMUNITY FIRST THIS RAMADAN

During the holy month of Ramadan, a time when people are brought together, Yas Acres Golf & Country Club has organised a week’s worth of activities to entice new visitors to the club for the first time. As part of its ‘Community Week’, the club will put on events daily from Monday 18th April through to Sunday 24th April.

  • Monday 18th – Ladies’ Day
  • Tuesday 19th – Men’s Evening
  • Wednesday 20th – Get into Golf
  • Thursday 21st – Introduction to Padel
  • Friday 22nd – Pool & Movie Night
  • Saturday 23rd – Yas Acres Golf Open
  • Sunday 24th – Community Day

To kick things off a Ladies Day will be held on Monday 18th April, with Abu Dhabi’s lady golfers, non-golfers and Yas Acres residents all invited. A free clinic will offer participants an introduction to golf, followed by a high tea buffet with tea’s, coffees and small bites. There will also be a shopping soiree afterwards with entertainment.

Other highlights from the week include a ‘Get Into Golf’ day on Wednesday 20th April with a further complimentary clinic, as well as access to the driving range where there will be a music activation, long drive competition and Trackman access. Thursday 21st April and Friday 22nd April will both move off-course with an ‘Introduction to Padel’ and a ‘Pool & Movie Night’ respectively.

The weekend will see the return of competitive golf with the ‘Yas Acres Open’, which will be attended by a string of VIP’s. The Gross & Net Men’s and Ladies winner will be recognised with an official plaque and trophy. Finally, to top things off and to really get into the Ramadan spirit, Yas Acres Golf & Country Club will be hosting a ‘Community Open Day’, with picnics for the juniors and their families. Blankets, a hamper (with small sandwiches, fruits, juice boxes, small deserts), along with music and fun activities will all be provided. There will also be a Par 3 driving range competition and a miniature putting contest.

Commenting on the upcoming week-long Ramadan activities planned at the golf & country club, James Durkin, Golf Operations Manager at Yas Acres Golf & Country Club said: “I am sure that our weeklong Ramadan community event will entice both golfers and non-golfers alike to come and visit us for the first time. We are confident that once people are able to enjoy our amenities and see the high standards, we put into everything that we do that they will come back for more and see what else we have to offer.”

Durkin continued: “Both our member and visitor experience is second to none and during this year’s Ramadan our team will look to offer the very best culinary experience, leisure offering and golf and padel operations.”

Santos Montes, Group F&B Manager at Yas Links Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and Yas Acres Golf & Country Club was excited to try out some of his new recipes on visitors during the club’s ‘Community Week’ saying: “This will be a fantastic opportunity not only for me to try some new food and beverage initiatives but to also give back to our local community and Yas Acres residents. For those of us lucky enough to live in Abu Dhabi, we know how important Ramadan is. Particularly when it comes to food! We want to be able to offer fortifying dishes to help those fasting regain their strength, as well as sampling an array of new international flavours.”

So, make sure to bring the family and visit Yas Acres Golf & Country Club any day during ‘Community Week’ to experience the facilities first-hand.
