Providing a glamourous setting, a warm welcome and an exclusive ambiance surrounded by the timeless beauty of the desert, Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, is the perfect location for a memorable Ramadan celebration.
Located just 40 minutes from Abu Dhabi, this year the luxurious hideaway has opened its iconic Al Mabeet Desert Camp exclusively for Ramadan, welcoming families and friends to enjoy an authentic, Bedouin-inspired iftar and suhoor in amongst the tranquility of the Al Wathba region.
Inviting guests to fully experience the day-to-day lives of the Bedouin tribes, the desert’s original inhabitants, Al Mabeet provides a multi-sensory journey through the customs and traditions of the UAE.
As a tribute to the nation’s rich and fascinating heritage, guests are invited to relax and savour a sumptuous meal whilst enjoying live entertainment from a talented oud player, telling stories around the bonfire and capturing photos with the resort’s Arabian horses and camels. Meanwhile, the authentic decorations and artefacts and desert activities further add to the feel that guests have entered an exclusive Bedouin escape.
For the daily iftar, the expert chefs will be demonstrating the historical art of Zarb cooking, which involves barbecuing delicious meats deep underground. Alongside these traditional delights, guests can select delicacies from a vast buffet of Middle Eastern seasonal favourites, plus a collection of expertly made Indian and Asian specialties. Starring appetisers such as colourful hot and cold mezze, fresh and crunchy salads and heart-warming soups, live stations serving freshly baked manakish, shawarma and grilled meat and seafood, plus main courses like shrimp in harra sauce and chicken molokhia, every member of the family will be spoilt for choice.
A vast array of sweet and indulgent desserts, including favorite sweet treats such as kataif ashta, kunafa, koulaj, classic umm ali, home baked indulgences such as red velvet cake and brownies, and light and tasty French pastries, complete the experience perfectly.
Meanwhile, the irresistible à la carte suhoor menu is complemented with live entertainment including an elegant oud player. The scrumptious spread includes a selection of the most sumptuous Arabic and Levantine flavours, with an extensive array of flavorful shisha available to order until 1am.
Those who wish to use the opportunity to bond and grow closer together as a big group, can choose to enhance their experience by booking a customised VIP area within the luxurious setting of the private camp.
Iftar at Al Mabeet Desert Camp is available daily throughout the month of Ramadan for AED 195 per person including food, water, soft drinks and traditional Ramadan beverages. Suhoor is available until 1am priced à la carte.
