Curtains down on Garena Free Fire EMEA Invitational tournament

Trident Clan came out on top to be crowned champions in the Free Fire EMEA Invitational 2021.

Trident Clan, team members from Kazakhstan and Russia, were previously crowned champions of Free Fire Continental Series 2020 EMEA under their previous team name: Sbornaya ChR. 

The grand finals of the Free Fire EMEA Invitational 2021 took place recently with 12 top teams completing the preliminaries a week before the grand finals.

The Preliminaries took place on 20 Nov and 21 Nov, with 6 matches taking place each day. At the end of each day in the preliminaries, teams earned head start points based on their placement, which will be carried over to the final round.

The 12 top teams made it through the ranks following numerous intense battles in their respective local leagues and competing in a knockout tournament to determine the top 4 teams that will earn themselves accumulated headstart points in the Grand Finals.

MENA based teams MCES Africa, Shift, Na9aba Esports, and Nakazaki E-sport were among the 12 of the strongest teams across EMEA who competed in the preliminary stage and continued the battle in the Grand Finals. With team members hailing from various countries across MENA, they engaged in an exciting all-out battle of wits, teamwork, and skill.

Mohamed Rayane Sadeki (NK-s Ivar) leader of Nakazaki E-sport who were ranked third in day 2 of the preliminary round and got 2 headstart points said: “Although we are disappointed not to capitalize on our performances in the preliminaries, we are still proud of the teams journey in the tournament. We are thankful to Garena for hosting the tournament as it provides a platform for the Free Fire community to come together and compete against each other at the highest level.” 

El Mehdi Ainas (MCES Pushin) leader of MCES Africa, who overcame all odds in the Free Fire Arab League Season 4 to clinch a spot in the FFEI 2021 Preliminaries, said: “Garena Free Fire has always given us opportunities to play against the best teams through tournaments like these. The support we receive from them helps us bring out the best in us. We will continue to work on improving ourselves and come back stronger in the next challenge.”

The FFEI 2021 Preliminaries and Grand Finals were broadcasted live on Free Fire MENA’s official YouTube channels, Facebook page and Booyah! TV.

Garena aims to provide gamers opportunities to test themselves on a more regular basis through tournaments and are committed to keep expanding the roster of tournaments in the region.
