#LetsTalk becomes the Movember message from Al-Futtaim Health

Most often than not, there’s a perception among men to avoid revealing their most intimate health problems from infertility to incontinence, when compared to women.

This was a key insight for HealthHub Clinics by Al-Futtaim to come up with their #LetsTalk campaign that focused on the key issue of not speaking up. It led to the realization of the core idea that used the iconic Movember moustache on the Covid mask (for mouths being shut) as advertising space to ‘speak up and talk openly’.

Dr. Tholfakar Al Baaj, Chief Clinical Officer, Al-Futtaim Health, stated: “Men largely hold themselves back when seeking help for their health problems, but ignoring them can lead to serious consequences later. These could stem from deep related issues involving shyness and embarrassment, to the fear of ridicule. In fact, peer pressure and general perception of being ‘macho’ in hiding serious issues, can take its toll if not treated early. “

He added, “Being aware of testicular cancer, prostate cancer and erectile dysfunction are important issues but it’s not just physiological issues in the Middle East which is of concern, it’s the prevalence of mental health issues on a more psychological level. It’s just not being spoken about enough.”

“As partners to men’s health in the UAE, HealthHub Clinics by Al-Futtaim, our #Let’sTalk campaign offers men a free consultation with the best urologists in Dubai, to talk about their issues, while also highlighting the importance of being treated early.”
