The Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, in cooperation with AbbVie, the leading biopharmaceutical company, held the activities of the largest awareness conference of its kind on skin diseases, with a special focus on Atopic Dermatitis, among the participants were a group of local and international doctors. The participant doctors delivered scientific lectures on dermatology for both adults and adolescences. The conference witnessed the announcement of Guinness World Record breaking for the largest sentence written with pens in the world to “Rewrite Atopic Dermatitis Patients’ Stories in Saudi Arabia”. In addition to that the conference discussed several research summaries that dealt with skin diseases, their symptoms, diagnosis, methods of treatment, causes and types.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, President of the Conference, Dr. Abdullah Al Akeel, stated that the conference is the first of its kind in the region in terms of the high scientific level of the speakers, noting that its convening comes from the principle of promoting health awareness for the benefit of the community, indicating that the conference aims to raise the doctors’ medical and scientific level and their treatment skills, and to identify the latest methods of treatment and diagnosis of skin diseases and the importance of early detection, in order to avoid any potential consequences.
Dr. Essam Hamadah, Consultant of Dermatology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, for his part explained that holding such conferences is an opportunity for doctors and specialists in the health sectors to exchange experiences and get acquainted with the latest developments in medical discoveries and inventions in the field of dermatology, noting that such issues are at the heart of the interests of the Saudi Ministry of Health. Dr. Essam urged all doctors and consultants to benefit from the presence of this elite of dermatology poles and representatives of international medical companies, especially since the conference is being held in attendance.
Ashraf Daoud, General Manager of AbbVie Saudi Arabia, praised the success of the conference which highlighted the latest developments in dermatology, particularly the atopic dermatitis. He also appreciated the cooperation between the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatology and AbbVie to help break the record for the largest sentence written in pens in the world to “Rewrite Atopic Dermatitis Patients’ Stories in Saudi Arabia “, to promote awareness of skin diseases and Atopic Dermatitis around the globe and specifically in Saudi Arabia.
It is worth noting that the conference highlighted the latest developments in dermatology, especially atopic dermatitis, and presented a series of workshops and scientific programs by world well-known dermatologists, to showcase the latest medical innovations and findings for the treatment of skin diseases.
