With the aim of positioning Peru as a multicultural and megadiverse country with ancestral knowledge projected into the future, The Commission for Promotion of Export and Tourism – PROMPERÚ summoned MSEs and SMEs from the export and tourism industry belonging to the 25 regions of Peru to be a part of the Peruvian commercial pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai. The objective is to promote the country’s culture, its biodiversity and, thus, generate business opportunities looking to the economic reactivation of the export, tourism and investments areas.
The Peruvian presence will be reinforced by commercial days dedicated to our different regions such as Expo Perú Los Andes (Los Andes Peru Expo), Expoamazónica (Amazonian Expo), Expo Perú Norte (North Peru Expo), and Sur Exporta (South Exports) which will enhance the exporting and tourist potential, as well as the cultural, tourist, historical and culinary richness of all the regions of the country. Of the 200 Peruvian companies expected to be present, more than eighty percent will be MSEs and SMEs.
Peru’s participation will be aligned with the three pillars of the Expo 2020 Dubai: ‘Opportunity’, ‘Sustainability’, and ‘Mobility’. The commercial aspect will be linked to the environment and biodiversity protection, and to the preservation of culture, issues of outmost importance for Peru and the world.
The official delegation and the regional governments will submit investment project portfolios to potential investors. The regional supply of goods and services, and portfolios of tourism projects will be essential to open new markets within the Middle East and boost Peru’s internationalization process.
In each of the events dedicated to the regions we will have the participation and exhibition of exportable products, the exhibition of routes and tourist attractions of the regions, as well as business meetings with potential buyers. Besides, cultural activities, dance and music from each of the regions will be presented by the regional governments.
It is worth highlighting the coordination work carried out between PROMPERÚ, the regional communities of Los Andes and the Macro Northeast Region of Peru, the southern regions, as well as the Amazon Interregional Council (Consejo Interregional Amazónico, CIAM), in order to prioritize the participation of MSEs from all over the country.
