According to the DQL Index 2021, Saudi Arabia ranks 50th in the world. Compared to last year, Saudi Arabia dropped down by 5 places in DQL ranking. Even though the country excels in internet quality, it struggles with internet affordability – this index decreased by 74% from last year.

- Saudi Arabia excels in internet quality – ranks 10th worldwide, surpassing Singapore, France and Israel.
- At the same time, its mobile internet is fifth-best globally – 97.04 Mbps and is the fastest-growing in the world.
- Saudi Arabia’s e-infrastructure is around 20% better than the global average. The country ranks 35th in the world.
- Despite having good quality internet, the country lags on the lower end of its affordability index. Internet affordability is 70% worse than the global average.
- People in Saudi Arabia have to work almost 9 hours to afford the cheapest broadband internet package, 3 hours 13 minutes more compared to 2020.
- Saudi Arabia’s e-security is also one of the worst in the world – it is around 20% lower than the global average and barely makes it to the TOP 100 countries.
Compared to Jordan, Saudi Arabia ranks higher in all five DQL pillars.
