More than a year has passed since the official partnership that started in 2019 between MG Motor and Al-Ahli Club of Saudi Arabia, commonly known as the “Castle of Trophies”. The partnership casted a shadow of success on both parties, that was evident by looking at the success of both of them in achieving the common goals of this partnership.
The MG brand achieved a tangible interaction with the fans of the Al-Ahli football team, and expanded its communication channels with them, the fans are eagerly following the team’s moves and results, they are also following up on the players who decorated their shirts with the famous MG logo, especially when these players made their friendly visits to the MG showrooms, and interact with their fans, or by learning about the characteristics and features of the different MG models, in addition to the major role played by MG, which was important for the stability of the financial income of Al-Ahli club.
Al-Ahli Club, through its partnership with the MG brand, has also developed its level of ambitions and goals in enhancing its prestigious position among football clubs in Saudi Arabia as well as in the Arab world, and through its performance and positive results for this season, it has shown its commitment to becoming a club that follows the professional standards of international clubs. Al-Ahli club also benefited from that partnership through the interaction of the club’s management with MG through many joint activities.
It is noteworthy that MG Motor and Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club announced last year that they had signed a formal three-year partnership agreement. The aim of this partnership is to highlight the record of distinguished and prestigious achievements in addition to the high sporting spirit that both brands share. Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club is first Saudi club to reach the AFC Champions League Final in 1986, and it is the club that most achieved the title of ‘King’s Cup’ with 13 titles, and the title of ‘Saudi Crown Prince Cup’ champion six times, while MG Motor, the British-born, has a record of global achievements which come as a result of dedication to performance, high spirits and great ambition.
