LG’s front-load washer and dryer machines feature the company’s Artificial Intelligent Direct Drive (AI DD™) motor, alongside AI-powered Proactive Customer Care. The AI DD™ washer system comes after more than 20 years of advancements in LG’s Inverter Direct Drive motor technology, which now delivers greater energy saving and reliability across a host of home appliance solutions.
It does this by eliminating the traditional belt and pulley system inside a conventional washing machine, opting instead for fewer moving parts. This results in not only less noise and vibration, but also a more powerful washing performance, which LG firmly stands by – offering a 10 year warranty on the motor itself.
LG’s washer and dryer machines can detect the volume and weight of each unique laundry load, in addition to using AI and advanced sensors to identify fabric types in each load. Using deep learning technology, the washer then compares this information against more than 20 thousand data points related to washer usage, programming the optimal wash cycle setting accordingly. With customized motions, temperatures and times, the outcome is improved cleaning and extending the life of garments by up to 18 percent, depending on the model.[1]
When in need of freshly washed clothing in a hurry, users can deploy the TurboWash™ 360º setting, resulting in clean items in as little as 39 minutes.[2] This mode employs powerful jets, which surround clothing from multiple angles, enabling detergent to penetrate deep into fabrics for a complete clean. For additional peace-of-mind, select settings make use of LG’s steam technology, such as Allergy Care, which helps remove up to 99.9% of allergens while being delicate on garments.[3] The use of steam also enables cycles such as Wrinkle Care for greater convenience – boasting up to 30% less wrinkles.
To further enhance the laundry experience, AI DD™ washer and dryer systems also support LG Proactive Customer Care – a smart customer service solution that leverages advanced AI to deliver peace of mind and enhanced customer satisfaction, along with improved product performance and longevity. The service is available via the LG ThinQ smartphone app and can immediately alert users to potential problems before they occur, expedite repairs when they are needed and offer useful maintenance tips to keep their machine performing at its best.
