Registration of interest is now available for the first-ever edition of the Samla International Race, Qatar’s most challenging test of endurance, set to take place on January 24, 2026.
In partnership with Visit Qatar, the Samla Race is expanding to the global stage, inviting male and female athletes from around the world to compete in a uniquely challenging test of strength and stamina across Qatar’s diverse landscapes.
Designed to push even the most seasoned endurance athletes to their limits, the Samla International Race features four consecutive, high-impact disciplines: a 3-kilometre open-water swim, a 49-kilometre run, a 44-kilometre mountain biking trail, and a 4-kilometre kayaking course. This race is more than a competition — it’s a journey of stamina, strategy, and resilience across Qatar’s unique terrain, from its glistening coastline to rugged trails and inland waters.
With a total prize pool of around USD 300,000, Samla offers one of the most rewarding endurance challenges. Top prizes of USD 50,000, 30,000, and 20,000 will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners in both the men’s and women’s categories. Additional prizes ranging from USD 10,000 to 4,000 will be granted to those finishing in fourth through tenth place — a testament to the race’s prestige and competitive edge.
Registration is open to athletes from all over the world and genders aged 18 and above. Full race details, eligibility criteria, and guidelines are available on the official Samla Race website.
Since its launch in 2017, the Samla Race has grown into a cornerstone of Qatar’s national sports calendar.
