Rafiq Mansour arrives in Jeddah as the new Consul General of the United States of America

The U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah announces the arrival of Mr. Rafiq Mansour as the new Consul General. On April 6, 2025, he presented his credentials to Fareed bin Saad Al-Shahri, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs branch in Makkah. In addition to his role as Consul General, Mr. Mansour has been appointed as the U.S. representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He is keen to strengthen the robust and enduring partnership between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia and contribute to the region’s development and growth.

 

As Consul General in Jeddah, Mr. Mansour is looking forward to exploring Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage and supporting Vision 2030, particularly in areas like tourism, business, and cultural exchange. He also aims to enhance cooperation with the local community in Jeddah and the western region, deepening U.S.-Saudi relations in trade, investment, and cultural collaboration.

Mr. Mansour is a Minister-Counselor in the U.S. Foreign Service, with a distinguished 26-year career that includes diplomatic assignments in numerous countries such as Singapore, Armenia, Russia, France, Italy, Iraq, Libya, Algeria, and Haiti. He has received three prestigious awards for outstanding performance, along with multiple merit awards from the U.S. Department of State. He speaks Arabic, French, Italian, Russian, and Creole.
