Video calling is something that has become a major part in today’s life. With more people working from home and usage of video calls becoming more acceptable and prominent in everyday situations, it’s only a matter of time before the industry starts moving towards enhancing this experience even further. One such step forward can been seen from Huawei, evident on the next generation TV HUAWEI Vision S which boasts an exclusive 1080p MeeTime Full HD Video Call feature thanks to a 13MP camera on board.
Huawei revealed the HUAWEI Vision S and its 1080p MeeTime Full HD Video Call feature through a series of video commercials themed around Ramadan that depict different scenarios. Ranging from a son who is away from his family and cannot make it home for Iftar, to a little girl who dearly misses her father who is busy at work in the hospital and can’t make it to Suhour and finally to two families who come together to share Iftar moments virtually while being away from each other all through the technology of HUAWEI Vision S and MeeTime. These videos show how nowadays people are turning into technology and how it is being used as a tool to bring them together as in light of the current situation where physical presence of family and friends gathered around Iftar or suhour tables is still not feasible across the region.
A feature not seen in any other TV in the Saudi market, the HUAWEI Vision packs in a 13MP camera that supports 1920×1080 video calling and photography. However, a key highlight of this camera is that it uses a magnetic suction design, which makes it easy to attach or detach at any time, ensuring that users have the option when it comes to viewing angles.
On the other hand, this camera paves the way for the MeeTime functionality, which provides users with 1080p MeeTime Full HD Video Calls, all on the HUAWEI Vision S’s big screen. Users can not only make the calls directly to and from the HUAWEI Vision S, but also transfer calls from other connected devices: a user can start a call on their smartphone for instance and then seamlessly transfer the call to the HUAWEI Vision S, which will then use the camera, display and audio of the TV to continue the video call.
A common concern with hosting video calls is often the network bandwidth. Simply put, having a low network bandwidth can make video calls problematic, with issues such as dropping calls, lack of audio or even chopped audio. This is usually because the demand for network bandwidth for video calls is quite high. However, in scenarios where the network bandwidth is low, the HUAWEI Vision S and MeeTime automatically detects it and adjusts the quality of the call accordingly. This is done mainly by reducing the overall resolution of the call, ensuring that the call remains smooth and saving it from being dropped entirely.
The 13MP camera also serves a function of being a full-fledged camera for photography and videography. Thanks to its expanded field of view, the camera on the HUAWEI Vision S is able to fit more people and objects into its frame, acting as the perfect alternative to take family or group photos when the smartphone or tablet is simply not enough.
Thanks to this unique feature, the HUAWEI Vision S steps ahead to be the next generation TV, making it a must-have technological upgrade for any home. Not only does it promise ease of use, but it also creates an overall better video calling experience, all thanks to the 1080p MeeTime Full HD Video Call.
Prices and exact availability are yet to be confirmed, but we know that the HUAWEI Vision S is coming to the Saudi market soon.
