“We are incredibly proud to establish our first Rolls-Royce Apiary in Bahrain, an initiative inspired by and born at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, UK. Working with our partners, Hamada Nursery demonstrates our unified commitment to the conservation of nature’s essential workers – bees – and to our mission to create a refuge for them to thrive.”
Rashid Z. Alzayani, Managing Director Euro Motors Bahrain
“The Rolls-Royce Apiary is a project dear to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East & Africa, created in direct response to the real and pressing threat facing bee populations. Since 2021, we have been committed to safeguarding these essential yet vulnerable creatures. Through this initiative, and in collaboration with our partners in Bahrain, we are making an important contribution to conserving the country’s bee population while raising awareness about the vital role these remarkable pollinators play in our ecosystem.”
James Crichton, Regional Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East & Africa
Located at the very heart of the Kingdom, on the lush, green grounds of the Royal Golf Club, the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bahrain Apiary comprises of five beehives and has been brought to life in partnership with Hamada Nursery. Crafted from cedar and painted white to reflect the country’s bright, sun-drenched climate, each beehive is headed by a ‘Bahraini Queen’ bee and is named after a current Rolls-Royce model, ‘Phantom’, ‘Ghost’, ‘Spectre, ‘Cullinan’ – while the fifth, ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’, celebrates the marque’s illustrious mascot.
With a total of 35,000 honeybees, carefully tended by a representative from Hamada Nursery, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bahrain aims to educate and raise awareness about the importance of bees, the critical role pollinators play in farmland, and the production of natural honey and its benefits.
As part of this mission, an educational programme will roll out in 2025 for students, media, and clients to visit the Apiary and interact with the bees directly. From Q&A sessions and Apiary tours to inviting guests to become beekeepers themselves, the immersive programme will inspire and actively involve them in helping to safeguard these essential, remarkable, and highly vulnerable creatures.
