Football legend Florent Malouda is set to take center stage at The Sustainable City Cup 2025 organized by PTSA football academy, as the highly anticipated youth football tournament returns bigger and more competitive than ever on February 22 and 23 in The Sustainable City, Dubai.
The UEFA Champions League winner and former Chelsea FC and French national team star will once again serve as the tournament’s ambassador, presenting trophies to the winning teams and inspiring the next generation of footballers. With 38 academy teams and 330 young athletes across multiple age groups, this year’s competition is doubling in size, reinforcing its reputation as one of the UAE’s most dynamic platforms for youth football.
“I’m excited to return to The Sustainable City Cup and witness the passion and determination of these young players. Tournaments like this provide an incredible opportunity for youth to develop their skills, learn teamwork, and most importantly, enjoy the sport in a positive and competitive environment. Seeing the tournament grow, especially with the introduction of girls’ teams this year, is truly inspiring. I look forward to celebrating the winners, but more importantly, I look forward to seeing the energy, dedication, and love for the game that every player brings to the pitch.” said Florent Malouda.
Building on last year’s success, the 2025 edition will be the most inclusive yet, introducing girls’ teams for the first time and expanding opportunities for young footballers to compete and showcase their talent. By bringing together academy teams, coaches, and families in an engaging and eco-conscious environment, The Sustainable City Cup continues to highlight the values of teamwork, perseverance, and community-driven sports.
As the UAE celebrates the Year of Community, this tournament embodies the spirit of togetherness and youth empowerment, reinforcing The Sustainable City’s commitment to healthy lifestyles, inclusivity, and fostering the next generation of athletes.
The two-day event goes beyond football, offering a range of family-friendly activities, including a sustainable market, arts and crafts, and entertainment shows. Designed to create a festival-like atmosphere, the event will bring together players, parents, and fans for a weekend that celebrates both sport and sustainability.
