Royal Jordanian plans to resume its direct flights between Amman and AlUla, operating from 26th January to 27th February, and from 19th October, 2025 until 26th of February, 2026. The airline will offer flights on Sundays and Thursdays, connecting Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport with AlUla International Airport in both Business and Economy Class.
This renewed air link enhances connectivity between the heritage luxury boutique destination of AlUla and key markets in Europe and the Americas, providing international travellers with greater access to one of Saudi Arabia’s most extraordinary heritage sites.
Rami AlMoallim, Vice President of Destination Management and Marketing at the Royal Commission for AlUla, said: “The resumption of direct flights between Amman and AlUla reflects our dedication to enhancing global accessibility to our exceptional destination, sharing it with an even wider audience.”
Beyond being a flight route, the Amman-AlUla connection strengthens the cultural ties between two lands shaped by the ancient Nabataean civilisation, known for their intricately hand-carved tombs and monuments. Just as Jordan’s Petra stands as a testament to the Nabataeans’ ingenuity, AlUla’s Hegra – Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site – preserves their legacy in the Kingdom.
AlMoallim added: “AlUla’s deep historical connections with Jordan make this route particularly significant, offering travellers a journey between two timeless destinations shaped by the Nabataean civilisation. As we continue to expand AlUla’s connectivity, we look forward to welcoming more visitors to experience the city’s breathtaking landscapes and exciting year-round events.”
Karim Makhlouf, CCO of Royal Jordanian, stated :“We are delighted to resume the seasonal flights between Amman and AlUla, following the successful inauguration of the route in 2024. The opening of the new route AlUla comes in line with our strategic expansion plan, which aims to integrate our 2025 new aircraft within the next two years. At Royal Jordanian, our commitment to providing exceptional travel experiences remains paramount, and this expansion offers our passengers even more choices. Our continued collaboration with AlUla is especially meaningful, as it shares a rich historical connection with Jordan’s Petra. Through these flights, we strengthen our deep cultural ties and open new doors for exploration and discovery.”
In addition to Amman, year-round direct flights to AlUla are available from Dubai and Doha, and from several cities within Saudi Arabia.
Strengthening flight connectivity aligns with AlUla’s vision to welcome two million visitors annually by 2035. As part of this goal, AlUla International Airport is undergoing a significant expansion, increasing its annual passenger capacity from 400,000 to 6 million, reflecting AlUla’s dedication to offering discerning travellers with seamless flying experiences.
With its breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and diverse calendar of events, AlUla continues to captivate travellers from around the world.
