Rashid Al Dhaheri, is back on track at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, after his winning end to 2024 when he set two pole positions and took two chequered flags in the Middle East series F4 Formula Trophy races. On the 17th January Al Dhaheri who will be the only Emirati driver will be back at his home circuit lining up with 30 of the world’s top young drivers to take part in the 5 round, 15 race, inaugural 2025 Formula Regional – Middle East Championship.
The first three races are at Yas Grand Prix circuit on the 18th and 19th of January 2025 and will see Al Dhaheri driving for Mumbai Falcons Racing with the cars prepared by PREMA, the team he has been part of through his single-seater career.
Al Dhaheri commented, ahead of this weekend’s races: “It is an amazing feeling to be starting the 2025 season back at the Yas circuit. It was such a fantastic end to 2024, with the pole positions and wins in the Middle East F4 Formula Trophy races here in Abu Dhabi, which followed on from my Italian F4 and Euro F4 campaigns. 2025 is already looking to be an even busier year as we prepare for the main Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA).
“As always, I can only thank the support of my team and my family. Without their backing and guidance I would not have been able to have had such a successful end to 2024 and be so well prepared for 2025. Formula Regional is the next big challenge as I keep moving up the racing ladder, but I know we have never been better prepared and with the experience and encouragement of PREMA racing and my sponsors this is going to be a great year for us.”
The 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship has 5 rounds three will be at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, one at the Dubai Autodrome and the final round will be at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar. A total of 9 teams are entering drivers which will be a curtain raiser for the main Formula Regional championship which gets underway in April.
“After the Formula Regional Middle East Championship we will return to preparations for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) which kicks off with official testing in Barcelona on the 8th to 9th of April, followed by a second test at the Misano World Circuit, in Italy and a final session at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France at the end of April. We then return to Misano for the first race of the year on the 3rd May 2025.
Year 2025 will be another important year as I continue to learn my craft and gain knowledge from the great people I have around me.” added Al Dhaheri.
