A NEW TASTE OF SUMMER OFFERED FOR ALULA VISITORS DURING THE EID & SUMMER HOLIDAYS

This summer, AlUla invites families & adventurers to enjoy the Eid and summer holidays amidst its vast natural landscapes, quiet beauty and ancient sites, with special summer accommodation offers, spectacular dining settings, as well as a myriad of exciting outdoor evening adventures, which have been exclusively curated for families and young adventurers during the summer season.

The following is listing the top Eid and summer activities in AlUla:

Hegra

the ancient desert city is the home to thousands of tombs cut into sandstone mountains. The first registered UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Kingdom. Tours to the historic sites are conducted daily with 4 different day timing while avoiding the mid-day sun heat.

Dadan & Jabal Ikmah Tours

showcasing the magnificent stone building remnants of the Dadan and Lihyan kingdoms, followed by Jabal Ikmah’s open air library of rock inscriptions from ancient languages as varied as Aramaic, Dadanitic, Thamudic, Minaic and Nabataean, to name just a few, can be visited daily at 9am and 4pm.

Old Town Tours

conducted by a local ‘rawi’ or storyteller/guide, allow visitors to explore the labyrinth of mud brick buildings that date back as early as the 12 Century, right through to the 20th Century, and will operate daily at 9am, 10am, 4pm and 5pm.

The Oasis Trail is a free activity that can be conducted without a guide between 8:00am and 4:00pm daily. It’s a 3km walk from Dadan South and ends at the Old Town, passing by the green oasis of AlWadi, offering visitors an extraordinary nature stroll through the AlUla farms, suitable for families and nature lovers of all ages.

The Cycling trail

where the visitors are following the pack leader on a leisurely bike ride crossing through the sand dunes and surrounded by AlUla’s unique landscapes. This 14 km trail boasts stunning vistas and is suitable for ages 12+.

For shopping and food lovers, the Old Town Market is open daily where visitors can enjoy the traditional delicious Saudi food in the restaurants opening in the old incense road from 12pm daily such as Suhail restaurant, Merkaz, Alrahba Café, Alnakheel Café or enjoy a delicious fast-food meal at One o’ One Burger. Visitors can enjoy the traditional shopping and retail experience from 3 pm till 11 pm daily.

Unique night activities:

Far from city lights, remote desert lands create some of the world’s most enviable dark skies, making AlUla’s idyllic locale, and dramatic rook formations spectacular for star and moon gazing Experiences, which will be held outdoors amongst Gharameel’s mystical rock formations.

The Adventure Night Trail is a 3 to 4 hour guided hike through the extraordinary canyons of Al Madakheel and Sharaan Nature Reserve, providing opportunities to discover the local flora, fauna, as well as various rock art and drawings. The adventure is booked by request and at evenings only, with a difficulty rating of Easy to Medium.

The Hidden Valley Night Hike is a 1.5hr journey through one of AlUla’s most secluded and enchanting canyons. Offering stunning views as well as wide open desert landscapes, the hike is only available on Fridays and by request during the summer.

The Elephant Rock experience starts from 6pm till 1am during the Eid holidays and till 15th of May, with the onsite café, Key, enjoy the delicious sweets and warm beverages to stimulate all the senses and make it an experience never to be forgotten.

AlUla is such a noteworthy destination because of its layer upon layer of human history and a wealth of natural wonders waiting to be explored.
