ROSHN and Keswat Farah Set a New Guinness World Record for Clothing Donation

ROSHN Group, Saudi Arabia’s leading national real estate developer and PIF-owned giga-project, and charity Keswat Farah have set a new Guinness World Records™ title for clothes donations to charity.

The latest donation drive, which ran during Ramadan, received over one and a half million pieces of clothing from the Saudi public.

Over three and a half thousand volunteers from Keswat Farah, the Saudi public, and ROSHN employees gave more than 70,000 hours to collect and arrange all the donations during the first half of this year, with the latest drive achieving a Guinness World Record title for the single largest donation made in one go.

The donation campaigns are a major part of ROSHN’s YUHYEEK Social Responsibility Programme, which aims to raise the quality of life for those in need throughout the country through partnerships with leading organizations in non-profit sector.

The clothing donations have also contributed to the nation’s efforts to promote environmental materiality, with almost 18,000 kilograms of CO2 mitigated through pre-owned clothing being given a new lease of life rather than being manufactured.

We recognize that as a leading national giga-project, we have a duty and responsibility to our society,” said Ghada AlRumayan, ROSHN Group’s Chief Marketing Officer. “These clothing drives, which have been undertaken in partnership with charities including Keswat Farah, will make a meaningful difference to the lives of tens of thousands of people. I am grateful to everyone who gave their time and who donated. Their actions speak to the generous and thoughtful nature of Saudi society, which seeks to lift up others. We will continue to arrange more societal initiatives soon in ROSHN Front as part of our corporate society responsibility.”
