HONOR Magic V2 and PORSCHE DESIGN HONOR Magic V2 RSR users can download and install the update from the Settings menu. Based on Android 14, MagicOS 8.0 brings an AI-powered intent-based user interface (IUI) with features like Magic Portal. HONOR’s MagicOS 8.0 on the HONOR Magic V2 Series is empowered by platform-level AI to strengthen your device’s ability to understand user intentions and further enhance human-centric user experiences. Debuting on MagicOS 8.0, Magic Portal harnesses the smartphone’s understanding of user intent to streamline user interactions through an intent-based shortcut recommendation feature that lets users seamlessly switch and access services between apps and devices with a simple swipe. By selecting and dragging elements of content to the side of the screen, a user can interact with an intelligent curation of apps, selected with reference to the device’s knowledge about the user. Magic Portal supports over 100 popular apps across travel, office, message, search, entertainment, shopping, and social. Magic Portal interactions are compatible with apps such as LINE, WhatsApp, Google suite apps, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and ebay.
Enhancing user convenience, MagicOS 8.0 on the HONOR Magic V2 Series smartphones also offers platform-level personal assistant capabilities to scan app content and summarize events, meetings, notes and other interactions in “My Day” to provide a clean overview.
Human-centric Customization Options for Enhanced User Experience
In pursuit of best-in-class usage experiences, HONOR has improved the design of MagicOS 8.0 by taking into consideration human factors. Application start-up animations, exit animations and app switching on the new operating system feel more natural and unobtrusive, complementing improved user interface responsiveness to deliver a smoother experience across the board.
With MagicOS 8.0, the HONOR Magic V2 Series now have Magic Capsule, a feature that allows users to expand banner notifications on both outer and inner display to access additional information related to the notification, enhancing user experience by offering quick and convenient access to relevant information without the need to navigate through multiple system apps. Additionally, the new Ultra Power Saving Mode adds a new toggle that gives users the options to easily minimize their battery consumption to greatly extend battery life.
With MagicOS 8.0, users on the HONOR Magic V2 can now also create custom shortcuts by pressing and holding on to their desired apps. Users can also enjoy the ability to adjust folder sizes and positions on the home screen and manage stacking desktop cards that can be switched between seamlessly by swiping up and down. Extending user customization to even cameras, MagicOS 8.0 allows users to customize their camera modes’ layouts, letting them drag the modes most used to the front to streamline shooting experiences.
