Lexus Vasser Sullivan team achieved a stunning victory at the Long Beach IMSA Sports Car Race. Ben Barnicoat and Parker Thompson led the team to its second consecutive win at Long Beach.
Car number 89 dominated the track throughout the 100-minute sprint race. Thompson took the lead early in the race, building a significant lead over the other cars, before handing over to Barnicoat, who successfully completed the race. With this victory, Barnicoat and Thompson secured their second win in the GTD class.
Ben Barnicoat, driver of the Lexus RC F GT3 car number 89, commented on the victory, saying, “I have to thank the great team, Vasser Sullivan, and Lexus Racing USA. We had a fantastic season last year, and I am lucky to be in this team with all the hard work they put in. I don’t believe there is any other GT team operating with the same dedication to excellence as we are. So, the results aren’t a surprise. You get what you put out, and I’m happy I could deliver the amazing results for this fantastic team. Returning to race in Long Beach was wonderful and special for me. This track is amazing, and it’s a great place to be.”
At the end of his statement, Ben Barnicoat expressed his gratitude to Jimmy Vasser and James Sullivan for giving him the opportunity to participate in this GTD class race with the fantastic Lexus RC F GT3 car.
