For Spring 2021, TUMI explores the idea of migration, both throughout the world and within ourselves. Just as people move from one place to another over long distances, we embrace the journey that has gotten us here, while also looking towards the future. This migration gives way to growth and regrowth; to life and recreation; to change and evolution.
TUMI approached this season with a contemporary lens. We’ve given grace to fluid fabrics and innovation to metallics and earth tones. We’ve focused on sustainability, not only through materials, but also design that extends beyond singular, seasonal function. As we continue this journey, we continually examine our past and look towards the future so that we can restructure the dialogue without losing our DNA. We seek to create a new form of luxury, embrace evolution and build the future classics of the brand.
Throughout the past decade, the Alpha Bravo collection has made its mark with made-to-last, utilitarian-inspired gear including casual backpacks, briefs, crossbodies, and duffels. Spruce, the new Alpha Bravo sustainable capsule, is an assortment with unique, convertible features that fit into all aspects of TUMI clients’ lives. A nod to TUMI’s roots, the Spruce bags are defined by heritage-inspired styling with each piece enriched by military design and two-in-one features. In line with TUMI sustainability initiatives, they are made with recycled nylon fabric. The exterior main body fabric is post-industrial recycled nylon and the interior lining is post-consumer recycled water bottles. The capsule is comprised of the Paratrooper 2-in-1 Backpack that converts into a tote, the Barracks 2-in-1 Backpack that features a zip-off crossbody, the Infantry 2-in-1 Backpack that has a zip-off dopp kit, and the Cadet 2-in-1 Tote that includes a zip-off sling. These pieces always give you options for whenever you need to carry more or less, with versatile styling that will help uncomplicate every journey.
