The First in the Middle East, the Roads General Authority Initiates the Use of a Device that Measures Road Paintings

The Roads General Authority has begun utilizing a device that measures road markings, marking it as the first country in the Middle East to do so. This is part of its efforts to enhance maintenance quality and preserve road infrastructure.

This modern device is a significant addition to road maintenance, providing unique advantages that contribute to improving measurement processes and making appropriate decisions. The device features a high-resolution camera that captures images during the measurement process, providing a clear view of the condition of road markings. Additionally, the device includes a Global Positioning System (GPS) for precise location determination, facilitating the mapping of each measured point.

Operating at speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour, the device efficiently and rapidly measures road markings. It also measures the retroreflectivity of road markings and provides a comprehensive database of measurement results.

One of the distinctive features of this device is its high level of safety, ensuring the protection of workers without exposing them to risks. Furthermore, the device determines the extent to which road markings comply with required specifications, aiding in making appropriate decisions for maintenance operations and enhancing their quality.

This device is expected to enhance the efficiency of maintenance operations, reduce costs, and renew road markings, contributing to the achievement of the strategic goals of the road sector, focusing on quality, safety, and traffic density.
