Volkswagen Abu Dhabi announces its sponsorship of WorldSkills Asia Abu Dhabi 2023. The sponsorship will see Volkswagen Abu Dhabi provide up to ten cars from its fleet to enable student competitors to develop and showcase their technical skills at the world-renowned competition.
Taking place from 27 – 29 November, 2023, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, the second WorldSkills Asia Competition will bring together member countries from all over the Asian region to promote technical and vocational skills for the development of Asian youth.
All cars from the Volkswagen Abu Dhabi fleet will contribute specifically towards the ‘Transportation and Logistics’ segment of the Skills Competition. Six of these, along with additional spare parts, will be used by participants to showcase their skills in the areas of maintaining light vehicles and diagnosing complex problems, while proposing effective and efficient solutions within commercial cost and time constraints.
The additional four vehicles will be used by competitors to restore the car’s original finish, matching colours, shades, and textures exactly.
Spectators and participants alike can also experience the thrill of driving one of Volkswagen’s iconic models at the dedicated simulator booth located at the venue.
