From London’s West End to The Arena Riyadh, Lebanese-British performer Nadim Naaman is making his lifelong dream a reality stepping in to the spotlight as ‘The Phantom’ in the critically acclaimed Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA”.
It is the first time in the award-winning musical’s history that a performer from the region is cast in the iconic role of ‘The Phantom’. “The Phantom of the Opera” made its debut on October 14 and is running until December 5, making this the longest theatrical show in the Saudi capital.
Nadim Naaman said it became his dream to play ‘The Phantom’ after starring as ‘Viscount Raoul de Chagny’ in the London production of the musical during its 30th anniversary celebrations.
“I think the main thing is just a huge sense of pride. For years I built my career in London and never imagined I would have the opportunity to play my dream role in this region,” he said.
“To combine my work with these cities is like my worlds colliding in the best way. My whole life, The Arab world has represented my heritage, my family, my friends. Now it’s also the place where I played my dream role and the two combined and it feels amazing.”
Nadim Naaman’s illustrious career includes training at The Royal Academy of Music, where he now holds the prestigious title of Associate. With a list of stellar performances in “The Phantom of The Opera” across the globe, including iconic venues like Her Majesty’s Theatre London and Greece, Nadim has solidified his place as a leading actor in this iconic role.
Nadim’s impressive resume boasts a range of credits that showcase his exceptional versatility. From “Broken Wings” on International Tour and in London, to captivating audiences with “On The Town” at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall, his diverse roles reflect his immense talent.
Nadim has also graced the stage in productions such as “Sweeney Todd” at Harrington’s Pie & Mash Shop, “One Man, Two Guvnors” at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, and “The Sound of Music” at the London Palladium. His theatrical journey extends further, encompassing roles in “Titanic” in Toronto and Southwark Playhouse, “Chess” at The Union, “Marguerite” at Tabard, “James and The Giant Peach” at The Watermill, and “The Last Five Years” at Pleasance.
Nadim Naaman’s prowess extends beyond the theater, as he has delivered memorable performances as a concert soloist internationally.
