At the Italian home of motor racing, the famous Monza circuit known worldwide as the ‘Temple of Speed’, the 15 year old Emirati again put himself on the rookie podium after strong drives in all three of the races, over the extended weekend meeting.
Al Dhaheri, racing for the Prema team, is one of the youngest competitors on the grid, and over the weekend brought his car home for collecting points scoring top ten finishes. His podium follows on from the last race at Mugello where he also made the rookie podium.
Commenting on the race Rashid said; “It is an honour to represent the UAE at one of the world’s most famous race tracks. We are really pleased with the way the season is progressing and for my first season in single seaters for me to be in the top ten overall standings is a great achievement. We know that there is a lot more to come but this year has been about learning single seater race craft, and showing that we are very fast.”
The Euro 4 Championship works alongside the Italian Formula 4 series and is designed to provide further racing experience for junior drivers. The teams run the same Tatuus T-421 cars powered by a Autotecnica Motori-supplied Abarth engine and run on Pirelli tyres.
“These additional races are providing me with a lot more experience” added Al Dhaheri. “In the races the difference in lap times between first and tenth can be less then half a second, so it is all about getting track time and learning racing strategy. This weekend I had some incredibly close wheel-to-wheel battles which means that next time out I will be even more competitive.”
The next Euro 4 Championship Race is on the 22nd October 2023 at the Barcelona circuit, but before that Al Dhaheri will be back at Mugello on the 1st October for the next round of the Italian F4 Championship.
