Marking an unprecedented milestone, AlUla Moments’ new edition hosted its inaugural launch event outside Saudi Arabia, pulling out all the stops to craft an immersive celebration in Dubai on Thursday, August 24, that captivated media, influencers, stakeholders, and the public alike.
The 2023/24 edition of AlUla Moments, the annual calendar of events and festivals from the ancient Saudi oasis city, was unveiled during a grand activation named ‘AlUla Immersive’, held at the Theatre of Digital Art located within Souk Madinat.
Attendees were treated to an extraordinary journey through AlUla’s diverse landscapes, brought to life in vibrant, artistic splashes across the venue’s walls. The dynamic visuals showcased during ‘AlUla Immersive’ seamlessly blended technology and artistry, effectively capturing the essence of AlUla’s natural wonders.
Rami Al Mouallim, Vice President, Destination Management and Marketing at The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), said at the launch event: “One of the reasons we are all here is because AlUla is a destination that ignites curiosity.
Everyone wants to know more, see more and understand more about this beautiful location. I’m here to tell you that there is so much more to AlUla than meets the eye.
AlUla is a living and breathing tapestry of history, culture and heritage that span millennia. At RCU, we have worked to preserve our history while fostering innovation. This is a balance that’s reflected across all facets of AlUla’s development, including our thrilling AlUla Moments line-up.”
Melanie de Souza, Executive Director, Destination Marketing at RCU, said: “If AlUla is synonymous with 200,000 years of human history and 7,000 years of civilisation, then AlUla Moments is about that next chapter in our history where we absolutely do pay homage to our heritage but we also celebrate the best of contemporary creative expression.
And Dubai is certainly the right place to launch AlUla Moments 2023/2024. You guys in Dubai embrace all things arts and entertainment and do it so well. And it doesn’t hurt that the UAE is such a critical market for us.”
Alongside the opportunity to preview the 2023/24 program, attendees of ‘AlUla Immersive’ were treated to performances by regional artists powered by MDLBEAST, featuring Cosmicat and Daneel Sayegh. These captivating performances added to the anticipation for the upcoming AZIMUTH event.
