Sotheby’s Motorsport, a new online automotive auction destination focused on 21st century sports, exotic, and luxury vehicles, has successfully completed its first auction – a 2022 Ferrari SF90 Spider – offered without reserve – that sold for $800,000 including buyer’s premium.
The Ferrari SF90 Spider defines the modern hybrid hypercar segment. The SF90 – a namesake commemorating 90 years of the manufacturer’s motorsport heritage – marked the debut of its inaugural mid-engine all-wheel-drive production car. The specific vehicle that Sotheby’s Motorsport auctioned had only 300 miles on the odometer.
“At Monterey Car Week, the 2022 Ferrari SF90 Spider stood out as a beautifully designed vehicle that was fully loaded with technology and luxury,” said Chip Perry, CEO of Sotheby’s Motorsport. “Its final sale price illustrates there’s a demand in the market for a single destination that is tailored for today’s car aficionado, while providing a white-glove luxury experience from start to finish.”
Sotheby’s Motorsport looks forward to the next auctions in the coming weeks, which include:
