LONG FINGERNAILS BREAK GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ TITLE BEFORE CUT

Guinness World Records (GWR), in collaboration with Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, unveils new measurements for the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the longest fingernails on a pair of hands (female) at 733.55 cm (24 ft 0.7 in), held by Ayanna Williams (USA).

After cultivating them for nearly 3 decades, the Texas- native and record-holder cut her iconic nails to embark on a new chapter in her life.

The global authority in record-breaking achievements partnered with Ripley’s Believe it or Not! on Ayanna’s final nail measurements before her nail cutting procedure in Fort Worth, TX, USA.

Her record-breaking nails are now immortalized with the updated record title and new display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando Odditorium.

When asked about her upcoming nail display at Ripley’s, Ayanna explained, “It’s going to feel like it’s a wax of myself. Even though it’s just my nails, it’s going to be awesome. I can’t wait to see that…
Guinness World Records and Ripley’s Believe It or Not! are really on it. I’d rather for them to have them than anyone else. And one thing, it’s history for my kids and my grandkids. It’s very exciting.”

Ayanna, who felt mixed emotions about cutting her nails, first achieved the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title in 2017, when her nails reached a total of 576.4 cm across both of her hands.

Before the emotional procedure, certified dermatologist, Dr. Allison Readinger measured her nails to find they had grown substantially since the 2017 record title certification.

Ayanna’s nails reached an incredible 338.5 cm on her right hand and 395.05 cm on her left hand, bringing the total length of her nails to 733.55 cm. Post-cut, Ayanna expressed instant relief in her thumb and knuckles.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! will preserve and exhibit these record-breaking nails to honor Ayanna’s incredible efforts and inspire generations to come, starting Friday, April 9th.

She is encouraging the next history-making nail enthusiast grow their nails and to go for a title.
“Do what you want to do! Let everyone be themselves. If you want to grow your nails long, do it!” adds Ayanna.
