‘Riyadh, Shukran’ – Afrojack, WEGZ, Shaolin, Dafencii, and Moayad Alnfaiee blast off Gamers8: The Land of Heroes Week 3 Concerts

Moayad Alnfaiee

Comedian-turned-rapper Moayad Alnfaiee thrilled fans with his performance on Friday night at the Mohammed Abdu Arena at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes. He advised youngsters hoping to similarly make it as music artists: “Go for it! Listen to the voice inside of you, if it says you should give it a try then do it.” A star at Boulevard Riyadh City last summer, Moayad added: “In the previous Gamers8 edition, I came here as a guest – but this year I’m one of the main acts and I’m honored and happy to be part of it again.”

Dafencii

Soulful Sudanese rapper Dafencii was delighted to perform at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes on Friday night. He said: “We should always embrace our cultures in the music we make. I try to relate to the gamers by adding words that they can understand, and terms that they are familiar with.”

Shaolin

There is no better place to celebrate your birthday than Gamers8: The Land of Heroes – and Shaolin produced the happiest of nights at the Mohammed Abdu Arena to see out his big day. The ace rapper’s set featured classics such as Drake and DJ Khaled’s hit track ‘I’m On One’, ‘Praise The Lord (Da Shine)’ by ASAP Rocky, ‘Creepin’ by Metro Boomin, and ‘Pepas’ by Farruko.

WEGZ

After coming on stage in a blaze of glory, Egyptian rapper WEGZ departed his superb set at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes by playing hit favorites ‘Elbakht’ and ‘Keify Keda’ – much to the joy of fans. WEGZ revealed afterwards: “I’m a gamer myself, I enjoy playing Grand Theft Auto, UFC and Golf. I want to have my own special melodies and sound; the moment you hear it you know it’s WEGZ.”

Afrojack

Featuring his own classic tracks ‘Give Me Everything’ and ‘Take Over Control’, Afrojack played an epic Gamers8: The Land of Heroes set cut with hits from rock, pop, dance and more. Bringing the Week 3 concerts to a close at Boulevard Riyadh City, the Dutch DJ said: “Riyadh, Shukran! Riyadh, make some noise! We just flew in from Belgium to be with you, we flew in from Tomorrowland, and I’m so happy to be here with you again. I have a special track that I don’t normally play that I want to play for you. This is the first time I’ve played it in Riyadh…” And Afrojack then played a special rendition of the late, great Avicci’s ‘Wake Me Up’, while taking multiple selfies with the adoring Gamers8: The Land of Heroes crowd.
