PUBG MOBILE is proud to share that Vampire Esports has won the 2023 PUBG MOBILE World Invitational (PMWI) and cemented their position as the team to beat for the rest of the year. On top of all the fame, glory and $622,500 in winnings, Vampire Esports have secured an additional slot for PMPL Thailand for the upcoming 2023 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship. Hosted at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes, the world’s biggest Esports & Gaming Festival, fans from across the world watched their favourite teams battle it out for the biggest share of the $3,000,000 prize pool. Gamers8 is also partnered with smartphone brand HONOR, which will provide mobile phones for the festival and its esports competitions including 2023 PMWI.
The 2023 PMWI began on July 11th with much anticipation as fan-favourite teams would scrap it out for every last point to qualify for the Main Tournament. Day One of the ALLSTARS Stage saw defending champion Vampire Esports show the world why they are the team to beat, putting on a dominant display with two Winner Winner Chicken Dinners and storming up the leaderboard. Although DRS GAMING looked to close the gap in the early stages of Day Two by shrinking the points gap to just 11, Vampire Esports stood strong, securing additional victories in Day Two and Day Three as they closed out the ALLSTARS Stage in first place with a 30 point lead. Outside of the dominant defending champs, Day Three also saw an incredible run from Dplus KIA, who moved up from 4th place to 2nd as the ALLSTARS Stage came to a close.
The top six teams at the end of the ALLSTARS Stage (Vampire Esports, Dplus KIA, DRS Gaming, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Falcons, Infinity IQ) would then face their toughest challenge yet, the elite PUBG MOBILE Esports teams that had qualified through their regional championship. Day One of the Main Tournament began closely fought, with 2023 PMSL SEA SPRING champions Alter Ego Ares coming out strong with a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, along with ALPHA7 ESPORTS. However, once again Vampire Esports put on an amazing display of skill, ending Day One on top of the leaderboard and not looking back for the rest of the tournament. All eyes moved onto the battle for second place, hotly contested between Six Two Eight, ALPHA7 ESPORTS and Gaimin Gladiators until the final match. In the end, Six Two Eight took second place, a whole 89 points behind Vampire Esports who put on one of the most dominant performances in PUBG MOBILE Esports history behind MVP TonyK!
In addition to the exhilarating competition, the players were thrilled to experience PUBG Mobile on the cutting-edge HONOR Magic5 Pro smartphone. The global technology brand HONOR, is well known in the Middle East for its commitment to the gaming community and consistently providing users with powerful smartphones to satisfy their gaming needs. Moreover, the upcoming HONOR 90 5G has also recently been announced, promising a new and enhanced gaming experience for PUBG MOBILE fans.
Teams and players also had the opportunity to claim additional prize money for the new Record Breakers challenges. The team or player that beat one of the listed pre-existing records were able to grab part of the additional $100,000prize pool. In the end, Vampire Esports broke four records, Total WWCDs, Most Top 3 Finishes, Total Rescues (SchwepXz) and Total Eliminations (TonyK), netting them an additional $60,000.
With Vampire Esports’ victory the slots for the upcoming 2023 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship are now confirmed!
