Nissan GT-R Breaks the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for Fastest Drift

Nissan has set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the fastest ever drift. The record was broken with a speed of 304.96 km/hr and 30 degrees angle using a specially-tuned MY16 Nissan GT-R. Masato Kawabata, the Japanese drift champion and title holder for the Japanese drifting series, clinched the top spot from former record holder Jakub Przygoński of Poland. The record was set during a special event that took place at Fujairah International Airport, UAE.


Nissan To Power Red Bull Car Park Drift 2016

Nissan has announced that it is to partner with Red Bull for the 2016 series of the Red Bull Car Park Drift championship. The annual event has grown in popularity since its inception in 2008, with 75,000 spectators expected in 2016, compared to 60,000 last year. Nissan is getting in on the action by both becoming a main sponsor and supplying a 370Z to be the main car driven by the record breaking Lebanese drifter, Abdo Feghali.



Yas Marina Circuit hosted the final round of the UAE NGK Racing Series this past Thursday and Friday which saw championships decided in the final two races. Saudi driver, Alqassim Hamidaddin, entered the final round 19 points behind Greek driver Alex Annivas, and need to win both races to have a shot at the title. A fierce contest ensued and Hamidaddin did what he needed to do to claim his first title with victories in both races to become the first Saudi to win the UAE National racing series and was crowned NGK Racing Series Class 2 Champion for the 2015 and 2016 season.
