Saudi Hankook Racing Team’ captain, Saeed Al Mouri, achieved his dream and won the first official Saudi hill climb race "Al Baha Hill Climb 2017" last week, adding a new title to his record of accomplishments. Al Mouri came first in rear-wheel drive car category, and registered a record time of 1.52 minutes, while his team-mate, Mohammed Al Orabi came second in front-wheel drive cars category, and registered a time of 2.10 minutes, aboard a Mini Cooper.
Toyota and Global Institute for Motor Sport Safety launch 4-year joint research project using THUMS virtual human model
Toyota Motor Corporation and the Global Institute for Motor Sport Safety (Global Institute) have launched a four-year research project using Toyota’s Total Human Model for Safety (THUMS) with the aim of enhancing safety in motorsports. The Global Institute is the safety research partner of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body of world motorsports.
The Asian Le Mans has today confirmed the entry-level LMP3 Class within the Gulf 12 Hours endurance race has received official endorsement by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, and will be run under the full ACO technical regulations.
